【摘要】:Definitions,acronyms,andunitsgiveninSection4ofthisterminologyareintendedforuseinallstandardsfordeclarablesubstancesinmaterials.Thedefinitionsshallbeuseduniformlyandconsistently.Thepurposeofthisterminologyistopromoteclearunderstandingandinterpretationofthestandardsinwhichthosedefinitions,acronyms,andunitsareused.AterminologysectionisrequiredinallF40standards.Thissectionshallcontaintermsspecifictothestandardorareferencetothisterminology,orboth.Alltermsusedwithinastandardthatareuniquetoitshallbedefinedwithinthestandard.Termsthatareofmoregeneralapplicationshallbedefinedinthisterminology.Ifthetechnicalsubcommitteeresponsibleforthestandardfeelsthatitisappropriate,thetermanditsdefinitionmayappearinboththestandardandinthisterminology.Whenselectingdefinitions,theTerminologySubcommitteeshallfollowASTMPracticeE1964.TheSubcommitteeshallconsulttheASTMDictionaryofEngineeringSciencex0026;Technologyorastandarddictionary,orboth,priortocreatinganewdefinitiontodetermineifasuitabledefinitionalreadyexists.Otherterminologydocuments,suchasISO472Plasticsx2014;Vocabulary,mayalsobeconsulted.1.1Thisterminologystandardcontainsterms,definitions,descriptionsofterms,nomenclature,andexplanationsofacronymsandsymbolsspecificallyassociatedwithstandardsunderthejurisdictionofASTMInternationalCommitteeF40onDeclarableSubstancesinMaterials.1.2ThisterminologymayalsobeapplicabletodocumentsnotunderthejurisdictionofASTMF40,inwhichcasethisterminologymaybereferencedinthosedocuments.
