【摘要】:Thistestmethodisintendedfortestingceramictilethataretobeusedforfoodcounters,lavatories,andsimilarresidential,medical,andcommercialinstallations,wheretheymaycomeincontactwithfood,chemical,andwastesubstancesandfortileinareaswheretheymaybeexposedtocontactwithstrongcleaningagents.Thespecificationof10%hydrochloricacidsolutionand10%potassiumhydroxidesolutionasnormaltestingfluids,andthelengthofexposuretimeandtemperaturearebasedonexperimentallaboratoryworkandinterlaboratorytests,whereitwasindicatedthatresistancetothesetwosubstancesprobablyassuresresistancealsotoanyotheracidicoralkalinesubstancecomingincontactwithtile,excepthydrofluoricacid.Thevalidityofusingcolordifferenceasmeansofdeterminingthedegreetowhichtilesurfacesareaffectedbyacidsandalkalieshasbeenestablishedbyinterlaboratorytestandwasfoundtobemorereliablethanthedeterminationoflossofgloss,particularlyforunglazedtileandmatorsemimatglazedsurfaces.Lackofcoordinationbetweeninstrumentalvalueandvisualeffectwasnotedonlyinthecaseofminutesurfacechanges,detectableonlybyobliqueviewing.1.1Thistestmethodcoversaprocedurefordeterminingwhether,andtowhatdegree,ceramictilesareaffectedbyprolongedexposuretochemicalsubstancesthatarecommonlyusedinthehouseholdorforcleaningpurposesaswellasothermoresevereconditions.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.2.1Theunitsusedforconcentrationinthisstandardarev/vwhichreferstothevolumeofreagent/1Lofsolutionandg/Lwhichreferstotheweightofreagent,ing,tobedissolvedin1Lofwater.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
